Hey there, as the busy wedding season comes to an end for 2016 I thought I would go a different route with this post and share something a bit different with you all. This is very timely given the events that have happened in our country this week.
Recently I had the amazing opportunity to photograph a DC based culinary artist named Mike. Mike owns a string of food trucks; DC Ballers (Falafel) , Rollin’ Pizza, and Roaming Rooster. Mike is a Ethiopian- Canadian that came to the US in the mid 90’s to live closer to his family and pursue his dream of starting a food truck empire! Cooking is Mike’s passion, he uses fresh ingredients, and perfected recipes. Oh, and his chicken is free-range and hormone free!
Today, he has one of DC’s most successful food trucks, and unarguably THE BEST fried chicken I’ve ever had!
Here is a look at his business and the incredible people he has on his team…
The next time you find yourself in downtown DC around lunchtime look out for one of Mike’s trucks!
Hi folks! Another month as flown by and we are full swing into August now. This is when the wedding season picks back up for me. From now until the end of November my weekends will be jam packed with wedding fun! This week I wanted to share some engagement photos from one of my November couples. This duo met me in Meridian Hill Park a few weeks back. It was a mild summer day around sunset, my favorite time for photos! Here is a look at the session…
Have you been to Meridian Hill Park lately? The Magnolia trees are simply stunning this time of year!
A few weeks back on a lovely late spring evening I got together with Sandy and Neal for engagement photos. This couple is so cool and a joy to work with. We started at home where the couple packed a picnic, had a drink, and took some headshots – These two run their own businesses! Neal started Flashband, which is a website that helps musicians meet, network, and play music. While Sandy runs S Squared a organization development consulting firm. This couple is super busy, but we took a few hours and had some fun getting to know each other and I left with some really fun photos. Here’s a look…
Stay tuned for wedding photos, I’ll be documenting this couple’s BIG Day in the fall, and it’s going to be amazing!
You know the saying “April showers bring May flowers” Well, all last week I had my fingers crossed for nice weather on Saturday for an engagement photo session I had. “Nice” doesn’t begin to describe happened on Saturday. Not only did the weather man say that it was the best day of the year so far but this couple- they are truly amazing! We took a stroll around the Bloomingdale neighborhood, incorporated the pup, headed to the Capitol for some additional DC flare, and made magic happen! Here is a look…
One of the last weddings of 2014 that I photographed took place just before Christmas. This bride and groom had a winter wonderland fairytale wedding, with out the snow. The day started elegantly at St. Peter’s Church on Capitol Hill. The bride was of Russian background and many of the traditional wedding day events took place throughout the day.
After the ceremony the father of the bride gave the couple 2 doves which symbolized the bride and groom and they were released outside the church.
The entire wedding party traveled to The Yards Park where we braved the cold for portraits.
The reception was held at H St. Country Club, which was a first for the establishment. Everyone kicked back and had a great time at the reception in this unique space.
Stay tuned as I look back on other amazingly fun weddings from 2014!
One of the last weddings I shot in 2014 was a stunning DC Courthouse wedding! The couple met in DC and wanted that to reflect in their wedding photos so we went down to the Lincoln Memorial and did the first look and portraits there. The couple then had a intimate and simple ceremony at the courthouse surrounded by close family.
Here is a recap of the lovely and special day…
Taking a look back on this warm late fall day is so nice considering we are about to get our first snow dusting of the year tomorrow! Stay Warm!
Christmas 2014 was wonderful in the Nizborski-Spencer Household. Steve and I hosted my Dad at our house yesterday. We enjoyed listening to Christmas music all day along with each others company. Despite the warm weather we were experiencing in the DC area, we ended the evening with a festive fire.
After a busy and productive year for me, I am finally enjoying some down time with my family and friends. Frequent content packed posts will start after the New Year! Stay tuned…
