Fall Family Portraits// Old Town Alexandria

Happy Friday!   This week I have been taking a look back at the Fall.  It was a very busy time of year.  It seems so long ago!  Right before Thanksgiving I shot a family portrait session in Old Town Alexandria, VA.  I love this place.  We met up when the lighting was perfect and made a few stops around town.  Here is what I walked away with…

Spring is just around the corner! I am looking forward to flowers blooming and trees being green again.  Do you have the winter blues?

Have a great weekend!

#TBT// Sandy Ruins, NY

It’s Thursday and you know what that means.  This week I am taking a break form sharing a wedding and looking back on some photos I shot while in NYC last October for the annual Photo Plus Expo.  My friend John and his Fiancé Jess live in Brooklyn so I stayed with them for my visit.  When I arrived, John who is also a photographer (we went to college together) took me to see the Hurricane Sandy ruins down in Breezy Point.  I knew the damage was bad but I was shocked when seeing these ruins in person.  This public beach and boardwalk is completely abandoned.  I hope it gets restored and re-built soon.  These are the photos I walked away with…

Winter Wonderland Fairytale Wedding!

One of the last weddings of 2014 that I photographed took place just before Christmas. This bride and groom had a winter wonderland fairytale wedding, with out the snow. The day started elegantly at St. Peter’s Church on Capitol Hill. The bride was of Russian background and many of the traditional wedding day events took place throughout the day.

After the ceremony the father of the bride gave the couple 2 doves which symbolized the bride and groom and they were released outside the church.Erika Nizborski Photography Erika Nizborski Photography

The entire wedding party traveled to The Yards Park where we braved the cold for portraits.Erika Nizborski Photography Erika Nizborski Photography Erika Nizborski PhotographyErika Nizborski Photography Erika Nizborski PhotographyErika Nizborski Photography Erika Nizborski Photography

The reception was held at H St. Country Club, which was a first for the establishment. Everyone kicked back and had a great time at the reception in this unique space.Erika Nizborski Photography       Erika Nizborski Photography

Stay tuned as I look back on other amazingly fun weddings from 2014!

A Stunning DC Courthouse Wedding! -Recap

One of the last weddings I shot in 2014 was a stunning DC Courthouse wedding!  The couple met in DC and wanted that to reflect in their wedding photos so we went down to the Lincoln Memorial and did the first look and portraits there.  The couple then had a intimate and simple ceremony at the courthouse surrounded by close family.

Here is a recap of the lovely and special day…
